Antique leonard victor bailey #10 plane vintage old handplane hand tool #208 in 1869 the stanley rule & level co bought 7 of leonard bailey's patent designs, their relationship continued up until 1875, they ended up in court over a patent dispute (stanley eventually won the case), in 1878 leonard went to work with a mr selden bailey (no relation) & produced the defiance & victor bailey lines of planes, stanley bought both of them out in the 1880s & closed production of both by 1888 to focus on their own lines.
